Opening Plenary

Remembrance, Resilience, and Ensuring Jewish Communities Are Safe and Thriving

Sunday, May 31  | 4:30 PM ET

Jewish and Proud Sign

We kick off AJC Global Forum 2026 with powerful reflections as we mark AJC’s 120th anniversary. We’ll hear from captivity survivors Keith and Aviva Siegel, and pay tribute to Sarah Milgrim z”l and Yaron Lischinsky z”l, who were tragically murdered one year ago. Then, we’ll outline why a whole-of-society approach to countering antisemitism is essential to ensuring Jewish communities are safe and thriving. Vanderbilt University Chancellor Daniel Diermeier and AJC CEO Ted Deutch, will evaluate leadership and moral responsibility in education spaces in an era of global challenges.

America at 250: Navigating This Moment in Jewish History

Monday, June 1  | 10:45 AM ET

As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary and AJC marks 120 years, American Jews and the global Jewish community are navigating competing emotions. We celebrate a nation that has been a beacon of the Jewish diaspora for centuries—an imperfect but unprecedented experiment in Jewish belonging—while also feeling newly vulnerable amid surging antisemitism and anti‑Israel hostility in the U.S. and around the world. In this signature plenary, Rabbi Angela Buchdahl, Dara Horn, and Professor Jonathan D. Sarna—three leading American Jewish voices—will examine the past, present, and future of the American Jewish experience and what this moment reveals for the Jewish people.

This plenary examines the forces shaping Israel’s security, diplomacy, and future. We will address the war with Iran and the future of the region, assessing the strategic and security implications for Israel and the Middle East. We’ll also examine the upcoming U.S. and Israeli elections and what they could mean for bilateral relations, regional stability, and the global fight against antisemitism, with leading journalists Gili Cohen, KAN-Israel Public Broadcasting Senior Diplomatic Correspondent, Joshua Kraushaar, Jewish Insider Editor-in-Chief, and Barak Ravid, Axios Global Affairs Correspondent. And we will honor San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria with the Donald M. Ephraim Global Jewish Advocacy Award.

AJC Global Forum concludes by highlighting how AJC is shaping a new future for Israel and the Jewish people, and we will welcome Senators John Fetterman (D-PA) and Dave McCormick (R-PA) to the Global Forum stage. The plenary will also examine the future of artificial intelligence—how AI can both amplify antisemitism and serve as a powerful tool to counter it—while exploring what the Jewish community needs to prepare for in an increasingly AI-driven world. And we will honor three outstanding student leaders who are strengthening Jewish life on their campuses with the AJC Sharon Greene Award for Campus Advocacy. To close, AJC CEO Ted Deutch will deliver his annual address, challenging us to carry the momentum of Global Forum forward with purpose and resolve.
