Opening Plenary
Sunday, June 9 | 5:30 PM ET
In the AJC Global Forum 2024 Opening Plenary, we’ll begin by honoring the memory of those we lost on and since October 7—the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust—and we’ll hear from H.E. Isaac Herzog, President of the State of Israel. Jewish leaders representing countries from Africa, Europe, and North and South America will take the stage to speak on the dangerous rise in antisemitism over the last eight months, and we’ll feature a timely segment with Michael Rapaport, actor and comedian, and Aviva Klompas, co-founder of Boundless Israel, to discuss what it’s like to support Israel on social media. We will also kick-off an inspiring recurring segment titled, Heroes of Israel, where we highlight Israeli citizens who have risen to become extraordinary heroes in the wake of Hamas’ October 7 massacre.
Monday Plenary
Monday, June 10 | 4:45 PM ET
During the Monday Plenary, we’ll honor three student groups with the AJC Sharon Greene Award for Campus Advocacy, recognizing their extraordinary leadership in confronting antisemitism on campuses at this tumultuous moment. We’ll also hear from Ron Liebowitz, President of Brandeis University, on safeguarding Jewish life on campus in the current climate. In addition, a panel of leading Israeli journalists, representing a wide range of political and ideological perspectives, will offer an inside look at Israeli current affairs.
Closing Plenary
Tuesday, June 11 | 9:00 AM ET
Tune in to the Closing Plenary for AJC’s signature Global Forum session, the Great Debate. This year, Halie Soifer, CEO of the Jewish Democratic Council of America, and Morgan Ortagus, founder of POLARIS National Security and former Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, will engage in a debate on the 2024 presidential election and its impact on the global Jewish community, Israel, and the future of democracy. We’ll hear from U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and leaders on Capitol Hill who are friends and champions of the Jewish community and Israel. Then, AJC CEO Ted Deutch will take the stage to deliver his annual call to action. The plenary will close with a special live performance by world-famous singer/songwriter Matisyahu.
